Литоургиiа réussit l'impensable : faire entrer le black metal dans l'église orthodoxe.
This album is just 100/100, like so many albums from mgla. How can a band hit the spot so many times? They are incredible. Thank you for accompanying me almost daily these days :) adrianradillo
Strong comparisons to Opeth aside, Jarun create some lovely arrangements. The soft acoustic breaks keep a nice flow that allows both the peaceful and warlike to respectively make a stronger impact. Meanwhile, the black metal vocals, rock solos, and little surprises speak volumes of Jarun's musical ability. Poland has become a rising mecca for great extreme metal. Jarun will make a fine addition to the pantheon. Full review on Metal Trenches: http://metaltrenches.com/reviews/hail-poland-66 flightoficarus (Metal Trenches)
The metal’s band revelatory new record crosses genres and styles, effortlessly combining seemingly incompatible subgenres. Bandcamp Album of the Day Apr 26, 2024
Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end. sachavonkarl74
